Commercial Real Estate Appraiser
Aleksandra is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in geography, GIS technical consulting, and real estate appraisal. Graduating with a BSc in Geography from the University of Victoria in 2001, she embarked on a successful career path that led her to provide invaluable GIS technical consulting services to the provincial government for many years.
Driven by her passion for real estate, Aleksandra transitioned into the realm of property appraisal, earning her AACI designation through the Real Estate Division of UBC in 2015, a milestone she achieved with merit in the spring of 2021.
Throughout her career, Aleksandra has undertaken a wide spectrum of assignments focusing on commercial properties, ranging from multi-family units, office spaces, industrial complexes, to mixed-use developments, and commercial development land projects across Vancouver Island. With each project, her unwavering commitment is to deliver meticulously researched, precise, and comprehensible appraisal reports, fostering enduring client relationships based on trust and reliability.
As a respected appraiser, Aleksandra is esteemed by both her clients and peers in the industry, recognized for her integrity, sincerity, and adeptness in handling complex situations with diplomacy. Serving as an appraisal partner at Malahat Valuation Group, she collaborates closely with Ernest on assignments encompassing both business valuation and commercial real estate appraisals. This integrated approach streamlines the process for clients, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and comprehensive solutions under one roof.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Aleksandra is a dedicated fitness enthusiast and smoothie aficionado, infusing energy and positivity into every facet of her life. Known for her adept communication skills and innovative problem-solving abilities, she navigates challenges with ease, consistently delivering results that exceed expectations.
In addition to her professional commitments, Aleksandra has assumed leadership roles within the Appraisal Institute of Canada, currently serving as the acting chair of the Victoria Chapter since 2022, further demonstrating her dedication to advancing the standards and practices within the field.

Darcy Cross
Equipment Appraiser -
Aviation Specialist
Darcy is a Machinery and Technical Specialties Appraiser and a member of the American Society of Appraisers with 20+ year of experience as an aviation professional.
At Malahat Valuation Group, Darcy’s goal is to provide clients with accurate and defensible appraisals of their equipment assets. While he enjoys appraising all types of equipment, Darcy’s areas of keen interest and expertise are small planes and helicopters.
As a longtime business owner, Darcy is mindful of the many different scenarios that can arise which demand a professional appraisal of machinery and equipment. Honest and upfront, Darcy is a hard worker who strives to accomplish excellence in his professional and personal life.
Darcy graduated with top marks from the BCIT Aerospace Campus in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and from there has never stopped advancing in his career. After 21 years as a Transport Canada and Federal Aviation Administration licensed engineer, Darcy completed the Machinery and Technical Specialties (MTS) – Aircraft Appraisal Program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Dayton Beach, Florida.
Outside of work, he is a dedicated father, and he shoulders the same enthusiasm for parenting as he does in his pursuit of learning something new. Darcy enjoys spending time with family, sailing, and is also an avid traveler in search of a sunny beach and warm water.
